Edmond De Rothschild Rebuts Story Of Senior Manager Exit

A senior manager at Edmond de Rothschild, who a news service says has left that bank, is still working there, this publication was told. According to Leung's LinkedIn profile, he is still employed at the bank. Previous roles include those of head of discretionary portfolio management for HSBC Private Bank from 2004 to 2011, and, prior to that, chief investment officer at iVenture Investment Management.
A report by Asian Private Bank, published this week, said that “after almost five years with Edmond de Rothschild, the Swiss private bank’s head of portfolio management for Asia has left”. The news service went on to say that it “can confirm that Stephen Leung has exited his post at the Swiss bank where he was a managing director and head of portfolio management for the Asia-Pacific region”.
When contacted by WealthBriefingAsia, a spokesperson for Edmond de Rothschild said: “Stephen Leung is for the moment still working with Edmond de Rothschild in Hong Kong and the bank has no comment to add.”
Among recent personnel developments at the firm, in February, Edmond de Rothschild hired Christine Wong, a specialist in trusts. She is based in Hong Kong. She previously worked at Asiaciti Trust, starting there in 2013.
